Alice Anacheka-Nasemann, [email protected] Deadline for Applications: June 20 or until filled We are a small but vibrant congregation looking for an organized, detail-oriented individual with strong interpersonal and communications skills to manage our church office. The position is 15 hours a week from Aug. 15-June 30, and 6 hours a week from July 1-Aug. 14. The pay is $20/hour. Employee reports to and is supervised by the minister. Responsibilities Office management: manage mail, phones and email, reception, record-keeping, filing, maintain office equipment, update mailing lists and databases, maintain visitor and attendance records, handle mailings, update both online & office church calendars, coordinate rentals, track program registration, and handle ticket sales for special events Building management: serve as the point of contact for building related needs during regular office hours, keep inventory of supplies and order replacements as necessary, act as liaison with sexton, manage key inventory, serve as Building Use Coordinator for internal and external requests for use of space Financial responsibilities: manage petty cash and office budget, process, record & report monies received by the church, make bank deposits, serve as liaison with the accountants for bill paying, process invoices and expense/reimbursement requests, mail checks, call in/process payroll Communications: update website, building and maintain UCMH on-line and social media presence (website and Facebook), write and distribute regular press releases, create posters and flyers on as-needed basis, write/edit, produce and distribute the weekly newsletter, prepare occasional promotional documents, produce weekly Sunday order of service, participate in regular staff meetings to coordinate the overall ministry of the church. Essential skills include: Administrative & organizational skills: attention to details, ability to bring a concept through all phases of development, ability to oversee both short-term and long-term projectsWelcoming & respectful orientation to all people regardless of race, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, economic status, or ethnicityLeadership abilities in a collaborative environment (taking initiative, working independently, appropriate delegation, and maintaining an open and active dialogue with all volunteers and staff)Srong verbal & written communication skills.Strong computer and social media skills including competency with wordpress, website management, Paypal, google calendar, and Facebook Benefits: Position offers two weeks of paid vacation annually. Two weeks of sick leave are earned upon hire, however there is a 90-day waiting period before use. In addition, employee can accrue up to an additional 2 weeks of paid sick leave over the course of the year.
