Description
I play the Australian didgeridoo (a.k.a. didjeridu, yirdaki, et al.). I wish to form a band/group/ensemble/groovy combo incorporating the didge with other electro-acoustic instruments.
If you are a guitarist, keyboardist, percussionist, wind instrumentalist, bag pipe-ist or whateverist who is willing to experiment and break rules - this may be for you.
My influences are eclectic and wide, but here are a few: Ravi Shankar, Zakir Hussain, David Hudson, Pauline Oliveros, The Who, Morton Feldman, Lee Scratch Perry, The Master Musicians of Jajouka, Peter Gabriel, Experimental Audio Research, The Orb, Terry Riley, Miles Davis, Robert Fripp, R. Carlos Nakai... you get the idea.
PS: the image is that of a tiki I carved a few years ago on Oahu. It is not a didgeridoo, which is made out of a eucalyptus tree branch or trunk that was hollowed out by termites and has a bees wax mouthpiece. In case you were wondering.
