NEW LONDON, NH — New Hampshire State Police are investigating how a box truck crashed onto its side on Interstate 89 on Sunday.
State troopers were sent to New London, near Mile Marker 33, around 12:45 a.m. after receiving reports about a crash.
"When Troopers arrived on scene, they discovered that a box truck for Rose K. Trucking Company drove off the roadway and overturned onto its side in the median," said Sgt. Irwin Malilay of Troop D in Concord. "Due to the box truck being on its side, the removal of the box truck caused the left lane to be closed for several hours."
The driver, Alexander Nunez, 31, of West Springfield, Massachusetts, was taken to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center with an arm injury that was not believed to be serious, according to Malilay.
The crash is still under investigation, he added, and no charges have been filed.
New London Police, New London Fire and Rescue, the New Hampshire Department of Transportation, and the New England Truck Center assisted state police at the accident. A sergeant from Troop G also conducted a commercial motor vehicle inspection report.
Anyone who witnessed the crash is encouraged to contact Trooper Brandon Stubbs of the New Hampshire State Police, Troop D at 603-223-3654, or email him at [email protected].
