… for narrow focus JPop project. I am classical and jazz trained, got the electronic music bug, jumped into EDM, formed an electronic/organic collective called LA Jazz Underground, and now find myself composing and producing. In my humble opinion, the most creative and well produced music is coming out of Japan. I compose, write halfway decent melodies, but can’t write a lyric to save my life. Current influences – Capsule/ Nakata Yasutaka (with a touch of Perfume mixed in), Xai, Mondo Grosso, Tokyo Jihen, Clean Tears, Cherry Nhy, K/DA and a small handful of KPop artists, Rina Sawayama (even though she’s technically British), lots of anime and video game music, Progressive House, Trap, Future Bass.
