Republicans often resort to threats and violence because they live in fear. Their fear is what draws them to the republican party. People who feel like the world is out to get them or screw them over is the fear based mentally that most republicans have in common. People who live in fear - buy guns to make them feel safer, install alarm systems and video cameras to protect them from intruders, they get big dogs to help them feel protected. People who live in fear buy large vehicles to give themselves a sense of power. People who live in fear place themselves above all others. They tend to be selfish because they feel like the world is out to get them or exploit them. Personally, I would much rather get robbed or exploited from time to time than live in this fear. I would rather reap the rewards of trusting people than live in a guarded way emotionally shut off from those around me. Most republicans would call my mindset “liberal”. But to me, its just being human. I am not afraid of loving and being loved. Those who live in fear never expereince genuine love.
