This street art themed bike riding adventure is brought to you by members of PCC GIS Club with combined efforts from 2020 & 2021.
Building on the work of the GIS club to record data & produce a website of mural locations and images across Portland, Jay has worked with the club to create a tour from a selection of these murals for the club to visit in a social recreation experience.
The group will assemble for our ride at 9am, in the parking lot of PCC CLIMB center on Water Ave. No parking fee required. Bring your own bike, or contact Jay with a request for borrowed bike. Please reach out if you want to discuss other accomodations. Our tour will travel 5 miles in two hours-ish, at a leisurely pace and will then hang out and share snacks and drinks at the Salmon Springs Fountain on SW Naito Parkway; multiple examples of street art exist across from this public square.
People attending the ride are encouraged to take photos and video of the ride experience, to show how much fun this is :) If participants have Arc Collector added to their smartphone, they will have the opportunity to add the media to a webmap hosted to document this experience. Advanced permission is required to add data, please contact the host to be added.
Safety is very important to this ride, so please wear a helmet! Neither PCC, The GIS Club, nor Jay are responsible or liable for any injuries or other incidents that may occur on this ride. Cycling on the street is inherently risky and care will be given to preserve our group's safety on the ride.
