Join us for An Early Summer Collaborative Gathering of Fire, Food, Wine & Farming. Brought to you by Chef Jessica Wilson of GRACE. Wine Pouring by Lance Lemon of RICHWine & hosted at Charlotte Acres by the collective farm lands of Hazel Witch Farm, Shine Farms, & RealRoots Food Systems. Enjoy a bountiful rooted spread of farmed, foraged & fireside abundance. Full of bites, snacks, multi courses plated & family style, vegetable -forward dishes, overflowing glasses of wine, bubbles, refreshers & tonics, & hand picked bunch of Hazel Witch Farm flowers for take away. Chef Jessica Wilson will craft a menu to showcase the 3 farm’s fields seasonal harvests. Celebrating the surrounding earth & waterscapes, the local area’s natural landscapes, the availability of the here & now. Encouraging stability, balance & community through the connection of food. She uses freshness & heart to create an innovative approach to a more thought through vegetable forward, no waste, conscious dining experience. Inspired by the earth, soil, sun & the rain, the seasons of nature, through the hands & hard work of the people who maintain it daily & to the dedication from all those committed to restoring the disconnect. **TBA - MENU will be announced closer to the week of the pop up. Promoting & previewing her story & heartfelt journey of opening the doors at her anticipated restaurant GRACE, in Church Hill. Where she is renovating a historical old bakery to building a better food service business system for the earth & for ourselves. Becoming the first woman owned & operated sustainable, zero foodprint, urban garden to table Cookery + Market in Virginia & the East Coast. Using freshness, fire & heart with old farmhouse, seed to plate traditions & techniques. The Collective Farms at Charlotte Acre Hazel Witch Farm / Farmer: Ash Hobson Carr Cut flowers, herbs and seeds for contract Providing local & sustainably grown products using regenerative farming practices to continuously improve the soil, reduce the need for imported amendments and limit the farm's impact on surrounding ecology. Shine Farms / Farmers: Jes Carr and Nicole Broder Vegetables and eggs Providing high quality, sustainably-grown, chemical-free produce for the Richmond area. Their practices include minimal tillage, effective steps to reduce plastic & waste, meticulous cover crop rotation, reduced outside sourced inputs, & a commitment to high quality, nutritionally dense food. RealRoot Food Systems / Farmer: Mark Davis Vegetables, compost pickup and Boys and Girls Clubs of America educationA multifaceted business designed to address the lack of access to the food system in multiple ways. Growing high quality food, waste diversion via compost pickup and teaching classes to increase community awareness and involvement. Passionate about conscious, food based activism, and being a voice for food system equity.
