Description

Join us for a fun and interactive summer reading program focusing on diversity and inclusion! OCA Westchester & Hudson Valley, with support from the India Center of Westchester, is offering a unique 2-week book reading program for children ages 4 to 6. (Registration for the reading program for children ages 7 to 9 will open shortly. Check back soon!) Our interactive lessons allow children to celebrate diversity in America, be proud of their identities and develop empathy. Lessons will include a short sing-a-long or breathing exercises followed by book reading with a Q&A discussion. Our goal is for children to feel empowered by their uniqueness, embrace the differences of others, and lean on calming strategies recommended by Mindful Schools (www.mindfulschools.org) during stressful times. Lessons will be led by OCA-WHV's reading program leader, Al Lee, and a fun team of teen interns.
