Enjoy a night of tropical craft cocktails as the Tattler Post 973 is transformed into The Hawk Lagoon for one night only! ------------------------------Hosted by our very own Sons of the American Legion Squadron 973 - Enjoy a night of adventure and mystery as the Tattler Post 973 is transformed for one night only into a small tropical bar in the Hawk Lagoon! ---------------------------------- ------------------------Adventurers and explorers were shocked to find, upon traversing across the Lost Lake of Michigan and exploring the North branch of the ancient and mysterious Chicago River, a small lagoon in the shape of a hawk with a half-sunken American ship from World War II! The ship, appearing trapped in the lagoon since 1946, is rumored to be the infamous USS Tattler, that was lost in a storm while traversing the Pacific! Even more surprising, upon entering the ship, these explorers and navigators discovered a handful of shipwrecked sailors running a surprisingly efficient tropical bar, using whatever they could find to delight the senses and use up the ship's seemingly endless supply of rum! These lost sailors don't seem in any rush to leave, however, and on special nights when the moon is high, they open the hatches and allow visitors and strangers to join them in their nightly adventures! This will be a night to remember in the Hawk Lagoon!---------------------------------- Beginning at 6pm on July 10th, join us at the Tattler Post 973 for a night of fun, food, costumes, tropical and classic craft cocktails, along with a few other surprises! We are still figuring out the full details and total costs, but the plan is to host this event as a fundraiser for our fledgling SAL squadron, while also giving our members a fun and memorable tropical summer experience! Tickets will begin as Pre-Sale for only up to 25 initial guests at $25/per person and ticket prices are expected to increase as we figure out total costs. All tickets will include a Tropical Mug to take home, 1 cocktail, buffet-style PuPu Platter, and will be a contribution to support to the Tattler Post SAL! Food for the evening will be: Pupu platter: Served buffet style. -Eggrolls - pork and shrimp, sweet and sour sauce, hot mustard -Fried Wontons - lamb and pickled cabbage -Coconut Shrimp -Rumaki - water chestnut, bacon-wrapped, served 3 ways - shrimp, chicken liver, pineapple -Lo-mein - tiki bamboo boats -BBQ riblets -Satay Skewers - Chicken and Beef, served with peanut sauce The full drink list and other special announcements will be made in the coming weeks, so get your tickets early and stay tuned! The Tattler Post 973 of The American Legion was formed in 1946 but a group of gutsy war journalists, WW2 veterans, and volunteers. Today we are one of the youngest, most active, and inclusive American Legion Posts in the Midwest, frequently volunteering and supporting our community through programs, action, and charitable giving. We also know how to throw one hell of a party!
