Local performing artist/educator Jodi Serrano leads two-day workshops for hands-on experience & chance to create and share an original song! Workshop One – BLUES: Sat & Sun, June 12 & 13, from 2-4 PMWorkshop Two - POP: Sat & Sun, June 26 & 27, 2-4 PMWorkshop Three - FOLK: Sat & Sun, July 17 & 18, 2-4 PMThis series will give songwriters of ALL abilities the opportunity to explore: Style and genre differencesUnique songwriting structuresLyric crafting and theme developmentChord progressions and accompaniment patternsWorkshop participants are encouraged to bring along a portable instrument (guitar/ ukulele), and/or their beautiful voices and a creative spirit! Be prepared to step out of your comfort zone a bit…..that is where your expressive voice will begin to shine! Your Instructor: Jodi Serrano is a credentialed music teacher, and has performed across the United States - from the Kamehameha School in Honolulu, HI to Carnegie Hall in New York City. She’s been composing music for over 30 years, and has written and arranged songs of diverse styles for solo and group performance. Jodi currently teaches music at Cordova High School and helps lead worship at Valley Springs Presbyterian Church. She performs with Placer Repertory Theater and the vocal ensemble RSVP, and coaches various performing and theater groups in the Sacramento area. LIMITED ENROLLMENT - REGISTER NOW!
