Thanks for Volunteering at Slide Ranch! Slide Ranch welcomes the participation of all volunteers, 14 years and older. All minors 17 years and under must be accompanied by an adult the entire time and need a waiver signed by their parents or legal guardians.  Minors cannot be dropped off. REGARDING COVID AND VOLUNTEERING AT SLIDE RANCH, SPACE IS LIMITED TO 5 PARTICIPANTS TO MEET ALL STATE AND COUNTY COVID GUIDANCE. Masks are required outdoors if working in close proximity with others not in your immediate family/group. Masks are not required outdoors if socially distanced at least 6 feet apart. Please wear layered clothing that you don't mind getting dirty, and closed toed shoes. Volunteer Days are held RAIN OR SHINE, so dress accordingly! Remember to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. Feel free to bring snacks or a lunch for a picnic afterwards. You'll work under the supervision of Slide Ranch staff on our teaching farm and 134 acres of wild lands, contributing to Slide Ranch in a what ever area is most needed that Saturday: Gardening - weeding, pruning, prepping garden beds, planting and pest control, composting, restoring native plants and removing invasive plants, and maintaining trails and beach access, etc. Farm & Facilities - fixing fences, mucking out animal barns, building repairs, painting, etc. Office work - technology support, mailings, fundraising calls, social media, photography, filing, research, etc. Planting Kids in Nature Since 1970 The mission of Slide Ranch is to connect children to nature.  We cultivate healthy bodies and minds and foster future generations of environmental stewards. By farming, cooking, caring for animals and exploring wilderness and the coast, we teach people of all ages to see the connection between their own health, a healthy food system and a healthy environment.
