Press release from Premier Subaru Watertown: June 12, 2021 Watertown, CT, May 26, 2021– Premier Subaru Watertown presented Jane Ellis, President andExecutive Director of The Connecticut Cancer Foundation with a check in the amount of$20,775 today. The donation represented the proceeds from the company's annual "Share theLove" event, in which, anyone that purchased or leased a new Subaru could make a $250donation to one of four national charities – ASPCA, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Meals on WheelsAssociation of America, the National Parks Foundation – or a fifth local charity for theircustomers to support. Premier Subaru Middlebury selected The Connecticut CancerFoundation as the company's "hometown charity" for the 2020-2021 Share The Love Campaign. Premier Subaru Watertown is proud to have matched dollars from Subaru of America directly toprovide an additional impact to The Connecticut Cancer Foundation. The mission of The Connecticut Cancer Foundation is to provide financial assistance toConnecticut cancer patients and their families to fund cancer research. It was founded by JohnEllis, a former catcher for the New York Yankees, Cleveland Indians and Texas Rangers. "At Premier Subaru Watertown, we are excited to share the love with The Connecticut CancerFoundation, an amazing organization that has contributed more than $6.4 million to more than7800 cancer patients over the last 33 years, as well as contributed more than $2.4 million tocancer research, said Robert J. Kerri Pacheco, Vice President of Premier Subaru Watertown continued "Given the horribleaffects of COVID this past year and the inability for non-for-profits to engage in fundraising activities, we are proud to provide this contribution to The Connecticut Cancer Foundation toassist in these challenging times. Over the last 13 years, through the Share the Love event, Subaru of America and itsparticipating retailers have donated more than $200 million to charity, with customers choosingbetween four national and over 1,440 hometown charities. Premier Subaru Watertown has provided more than $250,000 in contributions to localorganizations such as New Opportunities Meals on Wheels, The Harold Leever RegionalCancer Center, The Boys and Girls Club of Waterbury and the Waterbury Police ActivityLeague. The Premier Auto Group as a whole has contributed more than $1.4 million to localorganizations over the last 5 years – making an impact in the communities in which thecompany serves.
