Dynamic position includes cleaning facilities and equipment, feeding meals, keeping medication logs, walking dogs, supervising dogs, and occasionally assisting the head trainer in training evolutions. Candidate must be reliable, responsible and professional. This position is 80% cleaning and care, and 20% walking dogs and assisting the Trainers. Our feet and paws are always moving, this is an active environment that changes daily! We work with all dogs from small sweet puppies to large, aggressive dogs. In the summer it is hot, in the winter it is cold and when it rains you will get wet. We work inside and outside in all weather. Activities are strenuous and include walking large, strong dogs who pull, stooping, bending and kneeling, walking, running, heavy cleaning, lifting, standing, sitting. You must be good on your feet and be able to hold onto strong dogs and not get pulled over or drop the leash. Tasks must be followed precisely with a special attention to detail and ability to follow specific instructions. Cleaning and sanitizing is the majority of this position's duties. As needed, candidate will assist the head trainer with setting up equipment and handling dogs in multiple-dog training evolutions. When working with dogs, safety is our number one priority. Ability to follow instructions and demonstrate situational awareness are crucial to maintaining your safety, safety of others, and safety of our canines. This opportunity will provide the right candidate with a wide array of kennel management experience and dog training skills from service dogs to behavior modification and a wealth of knowledge about everything-canine from holistic nutrition to behavior evaluations. Position will start as Lead Kennel Technician, and for the ambitious candidates, may lead to Full Time Trainer position. We also have a Full Time Trainer position open. The Full Time Trainer position description can be located on Indeed and requires hands on training experience. This experience may be acquired during your position as Lead Kennel Technician. Ability and willingness to learn and advance in your canine career is positively reinforced! We conduct weekly volunteer events with Therapy Dogs and Service Dogs which you may volunteer for. This is one of many wonderful ways to learn more about different types of dog training and an opportunity to give back to your community as you progress through your canine career. We work closely with seniors, children, law enforcement, and veterans. A background check is required prior to employment.
