We perform weed management, land restoration, and various other “ranch services” on beautiful private properties throughout northern Colorado and southern Wyoming. Position Details The role of Land Management Technician will be a full time, seasonal position in 2021, with 40 hours a week to be expected June 15 – October 15. Opportunity for year-round work available for the right candidate. Our goal is to have the LMT return to a seasonal position in 2022 that will span from April 15-November 15. Duties of the LMT in 2021 will be varied, but the majority of work will be spent performing herbicide applications using either a UTV, ATV or tractor-mounted sprayer. There will also be days spent doing things like felling and processing trees, seeding, and hydromulching. The employee will receive on-the-job training but should be equipped with knowledge pertaining to common noxious weeds, rangeland and pastureland plant identification, as well as a working knowledge of herbicide applications. Ideal candidates will possess a commercial pesticide applicator license from the Colorado Department of Agriculture, either at the CO or QS level. The LMT must be comfortable working outdoors in remote areas, physically fit, possess the ability to do simple mental math, able to perform basic equipment repairs/maintenance, at-ease while operating a truck and trailer/ATV/tractor, able to interpret a map/GPS, have good “bedside manners” when interacting with clients, and have the initiative/discipline to work with minimal supervision. A working knowledge of social media management is a bonus. The LMT will be assigned a work truck and will typically tow a 16-foot trailer containing Back 40’s Polaris Ranger UTV for weed mitigation work. This equipment will be stored in Fort Collins at a secure location where the employee can leave personal transportation for the day while out using Back 40’s equipment. Mileage will only be reimbursed if the employee is required to travel over 20 miles to a job site in their personal vehicle.
