I'm not real young, been playing since 1969, so if you consider that a problem, you may as well know it first thing... I've done everything from acoustic solo gigging, folk groups, to lead/rhythm guitar in 8 or so bands, bass in 3 bands, and both lead and backup vocals. My comfort zone would be blues/rock, 60s/70s rock, some country... but open to other directions. I also have some good originals if that's appropriate.
My favorite situations are 4 or 5 piece bands with 3 of us vocally strong enough to share lead and harmony roles, but if the situation calls for being more in a backup role to an individual, that's OK too. Looking for a good, solid local band situation, not for 20-year-olds thinking they're gonna be the next sensation. As a lead guitar player, I'm not an Eddie Van Halen.... I'd rather be compared to, say, Jim Messina. Taste, not flash, works for me.
I don't care if people have a toke or a beer, but won't work with anyone with an alcohol problem or over-inflated ego. Been there, done that.
