Wheelchair Ramp Installation and Handyman for Amramp Southern California Work Location: Warehouse – Gardena, CA Duties: Install steel, modular wheelchair ramps and other medical equipment for residential and commercial customers. Guide the work of the installation team. Install equipment as member of a two-person team. Listen and respond appropriately to customer needs and concerns and objections. Provide customer education and process data and paper information correctly. Follow installation procedures. Use power tools including impact driver, reciprocating saw, drill, chop saw and other tools. Become proficient installing all products including residential and commercial wheelchair ramps, handrails, vertical platform and stair lifts, swimming pool lifts, grab bars and other medical equipment. Some jobs include widening doorways, patching drywall, repairing flooring, installing zero entry showers for special accessibility projects. Organize and pull parts from warehouse according to ramp designs. Receive shipments and put stock away neatly. Reorganize warehouse layout as needed. Conducts inventory. Maintain fleet vehicles. Refurbish/paint steel ramps. Measures ramp layouts for estimates, presents proposals to customers and third part companies. Work independently. Work safely and follow safety guidelines. Use Personal Protective Equipment. Conduct Safety Tail Gate Meetings. Coordinates work schedule with team members. Accurately complete customer and personnel paperwork in timely manner. Coordinates effectively with team and management face to face, by telephone and with a computer. Qualifications: Ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Ability to work safely and follow procedures. Skills: Strong communications with customers and internal workforce including organizational, empathy and problem-solving skills. Ability to take initiative to solve problems. Work experience using skills of a Handyman. Knowledge and experience with basic Handyman work. Experience with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, building and landscaping. Strong mechanical, spatial and construction skills required. Ability to work as a team member. Ability to accept instructions. Good computer skills using Excel and Word. Ability to research products using internet. Work is available as contracts are approved averaging 30 to 50 hours weekly in Southern California Area. Amramp provides installation services to Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura and other Counties. Some overnight travel is expected. Requires valid Calif. Drivers license, vehicle insurance, good driving record. Amramp offers holidays, sick pay and a 401k plan. $17- 21per hour or Competitive salary based on experience. Provide resume.
