I know everyone is about sick and tired of Oregons homeless crisis. Before you let corruption turn you against the less fortunate. I would like the community to take a look at the real and very serious issues we are dealing with. First and formost with all of the funding recently awarded to Oregons homeless services I would like people to go online and look up these services as if you needed them then attempt to apply to any of them. Weather your looking for addiction housing, senior housing, family emergency housing vouchers or domestic violence emergency safe housing vouchers I promise you wont find any available resources. Just about any type of low income relief funds you can think of is virtually non existent. Oregon claims to spend a radical amount of money on these programs yet our problem keeps getting bigger. It is very clear to see what is going on and it has nothing to do with helping those in need and everything to do with using our money to pay partner corperations for services and over paid local government employees. People develop mental health and addiction problems after waiting years on a wait list trying to survive homeless. To find and keep gainful employment long enough to afford a home you need a home to shower wash clothes and plug in your alarm clock. Hold that thought. Look up the annual income for any entry level job in oregon vs average annual rent. There is no way out for allot of people and it is getting worse.
