Although other petroleum products, including gasoline, were also produced in the distillation process, Drake had no use for the gasoline and other products, so he discarded them. It wasn't until 1892, with the invention of the automobile, that gasoline was recognized as a valuable fuel."
I'm sure conservatives at the time complained about the gas fueled cars and asked what would happen to the jobs of all the stable boys and blacksmiths that tended horses.
Things change, Jethro. Remember when flat screen TVs first came out and cost $4000? Now they're less than $500. The computer you bought in 1995 for $2500 is a joke compared to one you can buy now for $350. Only a moron/conservative can't see the direction things generally go in.
