Happy Paws is a doggie daycare, overnight lodging, and positive reinforcement training facility located in Tenleytown, DC. We are seeking hard-working and reliable individuals to join our energetic staff as a daycare attendant in a cage-free environment. We are fully committed to positive reinforcement training and we are seeking someone who shares our philosophy on the gentle treatment of animals and who is interested in learning more about positive reinforcement. This position is labor-intensive but highly rewarding for pet lovers and someone who is looking for a career in animal care. We offer training for employees interested in dog training. Qualities that we are looking for: Punctuality (you MUST be on time for your shift) Patience (a necessity for working with animals) Initiative (ability to identify tasks that need to be done) Diligence (earnest effort to accomplish tasks) Positivity (lovers of dogs should be excited to work with them) Duties include: • Client interaction in person and on the telephone • Maintaining clean areas for pets (vacuuming, mopping, washing dishes, sanitizing cages, etc.) • Pet caretaking (walking, supervising, feeding, cuddling, and general engagement with the dogs) • Keeping track of medication times and administering medication when necessary We are looking for a part- time and full-time employee to join us in this rewarding field. The shifts vary from week to week. The full time hours are 6:30 – 3:00 or 11:00 – 7:00 The part- time hours are from 6:30 am – 11:00 am and 3:00pm – 7:00pm.
