Description

Free to a good home, no rehoming fee. Happy to provide pictures and videos to serious inquiries. Our home situation has changed over the last few months and we can longer give our 9 month old Aussie Collie the attention that he deserves and training that he needs. This is a really difficult decision, but he needs to be in a home where he can truly thrive. He can be very challenging and if you have not had experience with a very high energy dog, he may not be a good fit for you. He is potty trained, but occasionally has accidents like most puppies. He is used to having a backyard to run around in off leash and does not do well walking a leash yet (definitely needs more training). He would not do well in an apartment. He knows basic commands, like sit, down, shake and rollover. However, he needs a lot of work on the stay and wait command. That said, he really does love learning new tricks, especially if you have treats. He does okay with other dogs, but doesn't yet understand when a dog no longer wants to play with him, and he will try to keep playing. He has a slight underbite, but our vet has assured us that this is NOT cause for concern as he has no issues eating, drinking or barking/vocalizing (we actually think the underbite gives him a lot of character). He barks a lot, but we have not consistently trained him not to bark so he needs a lot of work on being quiet. He will bark at new people initially and jump on them, but eventually warms up and listen to redirection. He has not been socialized with babies or children and we do not recommend that he be around them. We think he would do best in a home with either no children and other dogs OR a home with one dog around his age and energy level. Overall, he's incredibly adorable, energetic, smart and super loving. He is up to date on all of his vaccines, was neutered on 6/3/21 and is microchipped. We can provide all of his medical records/vaccine and neuter certificate. Please reach out by email if interested or if you have any questions. NO FEE, but our goal is to ensure that he goes to a good home that can provide him with the love, attention and training that he needs.
