We are looking for a Mechanic that can join our Mechanics team to take care of our tow truck and wreckers with gas and diesel engines, from a light duty truck to a flatbed with air brakes. This job will require knowledge in all categories of vehicle repair from service routine to computer aided diagnostics and air brake repairs. As with all jobs in the vehicle maintenance field maintaining clearly written repair records, a clean work area and talking with co-workers to clarify a concern on the vehicle is a must have skill. We are looking for highly motivated, dependable individual who can use their skills to excel every day. We offer great benefits and team environment. 4 years of experience is required. Mechanic perform various diesel mechanical repairs, routine preventative maintenance on company vehicles and equipment to ensure everything is in working condition, vehicles may include: Freightliners, Kenworth’s, Internationals, equipment and trailers. Service a mixed fleet of vehicles Routine maintenance: lube, oil, brakes Electrical diagnostic and repair DOT compliance inspections Hydraulic repair Welding Repairs Alignments, breaks, welding Maintain clean and organized work area Diagnose problems, disassemble units, reassemble units Minor fabrication, modification, and installation of special equipment Other duties as assigned and required Must be flexible with days, nights and weekend schedules Competencies and Abilities Strong customer service skills, professional demeanor Must be able to speak, write and communicate in English Ability to communication calmly and effectively Time management skills Automotive computer literacy Attention to detail and accuracy when documenting information Qualifications, Education and Experience High school diploma or GED (preferred), Relevant trade school or able to demonstrate hands-on job experience At least two (4) years of relative mechanics experience Physical Requirements Job requires lifting, crawling, pulling, constant use of hands, significant bending and reaching, climbing. significant physical strength and stamina. Ability to lift and pull at least 40 lbs. good hearing and vision required.
