Recover Fest's goal in Staunton VA is to provide support for meth and opioid addiction through diversion & recovery services. The goal of Recover Fest 2021 is to provide support for those suffering from meth and opioid addiction through harm prevention and recovery services for the Lexington & Staunton, VA, areas through live music performances that will celebrate the lives of those lost but not forgotten as well as those currently in recovery. In Staunton, Waynesboro, and the surrounding county of Augusta, there are many people struggling with homelessness, unemployment, addiction, and other social barriers to success who are at high risk of relapse to methamphetamine and opioids as well as other substances. Therefore, the Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion (LEAD) program, managed by the Institute for Reform and Solutions, has achievable goals that focus on law enforcement diverted participants who are apprehended but not charged for possession of schedule 1 and 2 drugs. This is a pilot program through Augusta County Sheriff’s Office that hopes to expand to Staunton and Waynesboro as well as Lexington and Rockbridge County in the future. The program is totally focused on diversion to treatment which will be viable, affordable, and deliverable.
