Join Presque Isle ProMusica for their first of the Summer Small Ensembles, featuring Chautauqua Brass at Luther Memorial Church! This concert will showcase PIP trumpeter Landon Gray and his Chautauqua Brass, a quartet, founded in 2018, which also includes three trombones: Devin Bennett, tenor; Bobby Fis-co, alto, and tenor; and Daniel Marion, bass. They play both ancient and modern music, composed, or arranged, for brass. The group also has a keen focus on music education and musicians’ wellness. In addition to their performances, they offer educational workshops and master classes for student musicians of all ages. Their program for us will include music by Morley, Haydn, Dvorak, Gliere and Bruckner, some traditional pieces arranged for them, more recent hits by Harold Arlen, Erroll Garner and Bela Fleck – old favorites and some enchanting surprises. The concert promises to combine virtuosity with sheer fun. After all, who but the PIP is going to bring you Bela Fleck's "Flight of the Cosmic Hippo" this summer??!!
