Austin Boogie Crew Since 2011, ABC DJs Spence, Danbone, DJCG, DJ Chorizo Funk, and Cyrus D have made a splash in the local scene with their monthly all-vinyl party: The Boogie. ABC have shared stages with acts like George Clinton and Dam-Funk. They have also hosted an array of acts in Austin including Brian Ellis (CA) and Psychic Mirrors (FL). In 2013 they organized their first SXSW party: SXSBoogie. Modern funk acts from across the country gathered on one stage for the first party of its kind in Austin. The night also featured the twenty-plus year reunion of Austin modern soul outfit Karizma/Trace of Smoke. That same year, ABC completed their first West Coast tour, spinning at renowned boogie nights like Funkmosphere, Sweater Funk, and Funk Freaks, among others. In June of 2014, ABC launched Austin Boogie Crew Records. Their first release was a 7" from Austin's own Solar Shield. A second pressing of the 45 was released in November that same year, distributed exclusively by Rush Hour Music of Amsterdam. See Less Third Root THIRD ROOT is a hip-hop trio made up of MexicanStepGrandfather, Easy Lee (of MoJoe), and the world renowned DJ Chicken George. Easy Lee (Charles Peters) is a poet/MC and educator, and Mexican StepGrandfather (Marco Cervantes) is a producer, MC, and Ph.D. who teaches courses which incorporate Hip Hop at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Third Root released its fourth album, Passion of the Poets, this year. The project is produced entirely by Texas music icon Adrian Quesada (Black Pumas) and nu-cumbia pioneer El Dusty. For Third Root music, merch, and more, check it out here. DJ Catwalk DJ Catwalk is a creative director, curator, music producer, and deejay based in San Antonio, TX. Catwalk has held residencies in San Antonio, Austin, and Los Angeles. She has traveled all over the United States & Mexico providing music and entertainment for multiple companies. She has deejayed for big brands and celebrities like Drake, Calvin Harris, H&M, Red Bull, The San Antonio Spurs, and many more. Her open-format style ranges from house to hip hop and everything in between. This attitude makes her sets extremely unique and keeps you on your dancing feet. Catwalk is also the owner & operator of San Antonio based Creative/Deejay Agency - Parde (pronounced “party”) - which includes some of San Antonio’s top DJs and music producers. Parde's DJ chapter has recently found a new home at The AM Project. She is currently a board member and creative operations manager at The AM Project. She has been teaching both DJ and music production courses with The AM Project for 3+ years. DJ Diggy Dutch Straight out the bayou, Dj Diggy Dutch is one of the most eccentric DJ’s the nation has ever seen. Texas-born and raised, he draws from his southern Houston roots, Latino pride, and love of music to touch the souls of each person in the crowd. He is the co-founder of the Sad Bois DJ crew whose sole mission is to play music that heals. In 2017 he was a national Red Bull 3style finalist that earned him the moniker “The People’s Champ.” He uses his deep technical abilities to blend and bend genres together that no one would ever expect.
