Father's Day Whiskey Tasting Event at GWR Noda For the first time, GWR will be inviting some lucky fathers and friends of fathers into its rack house to sample some unreleased sprits. This is a very unique opportunity to sample some fine spirits before they're released and get your name on the reserve list. Unreleased spirits that you will be sampling include: 1. John Rodgers Rye: This collab with legion brewing dates back to March 2017. It is 51% NC rye and 49% barley, aged in 100% NC white oak. This small-batch will yield about 150, 375ml bottles. It will exclusively be available at the distillery.  2. Mecktoberfest Single Malt Whiskey: Back in 2019, The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery had some of their Mecktoberfest beer left over. We took a few 100 gallons and distilled it and into a used sherry cask...some of it went... this release will yield 175 bottles! 3. Darkside Single Malt Whiskey: Be the first to sample the second release of this collab with our friends over at Legion Brewing. 4. Owner's First Guest Barrel: 14-year-old Dickel bourbon.  Please note that the barrel room is not air-conditioned (it will be hot back there). * The tasting will last about 30 minutes. * Only ticket holders allowed in rack house, due to space limitations. * The tasting comes with a souvenir GWR whiskey snifter. The luck of the Irish has nothing to do with how good Great Wagon Road’s spirits are. That’s all skill, recipes, and adhering to the proven methods established by distillers that came long before. Our passion for distilling hails from a long history of whiskey makers who paid the price for us to get to do it freely.
