A gathering of friends and acquaintances to relax, unwind and enjoy premium cigars. For the uninitiated, a herf is simply a fancy term for a gathering of friends and acquaintances to relax, unwind and smoke premium cigars. You won't find any drug store cigars at a herf!  The Herf was started in 2010 ago by the late Doug Hennes in the back yard of his home in Eagan, Minnesota, and has grown to become an annual event eagerly anticipated by more than 100 brothers and sisters of the leaf. The main theme of this event is relaxation and camaraderie, everything else is secondary - even the cigars.  The 2021 Doug Hennes Herf will be in Chaska again this year. This year we are charging admission while soliciting food, beer and cigar vendor contributions so that any funds in excess of the cost of hosting the event can be donated to ThreeSixty Journalism, a nonprofit program of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of St. Thomas founded by Doug Hennes.  ThreeSixty Journalism uses the principles of strong writing and reporting to help diverse Minnesota youth tell the stories of their lives and communities. Join us for an afternoon of fine cigars (One Marco V Cigar will be provided with each paid admission, more will be available for purchase), great local craft beer, music, snacks and camaraderie.  Long time Herf Sponsors include: Indeed Brewing - an engaged and community-oriented brewery, offering and artfully eclectic line-up of beers from the heart of Northeast Minneapolis. Marco V Cigars - A local company that has established a premier boutique cigar brand with a national presence. Derrick and Kim Agate will supply ribs and fixings once again this year - they were a huge hit last year! Ski Angry is a group of friends that have gathered for more than 40 years to ski, play cards, smoke cigars and ejjoy each other's company.
