Creatives' hosts cross-genre open mic, artist showcase, workshop & networking events in the city of Philadelphia. #Ripe Event Details: Our June event was amazing! Although we were forced to change locations due to the storm we had an epic open mic night with some really dope incognito features. We can't wait for July 20th to get back outside at Venice Island Performing Arts Center! Buy here and save! Door Tickets are $15.00. Join our Ripe Community Txt Service to save an addtional $2.00. "Doors" open at 6:45 PM to give everyone a chance to check in, drop their names in the various buckets to perform (if you so desire) & find a place to settle in for the night. Make sure to bring your own chair or blanket to be more comfortable for the show. Open Mic Incognito Features Details If you’re hoping to perform you need to arrive no later than 7:05 PM. We'll draw the names of the performers at 7:10 PM & the first performance will be at 7:15 PM. We will have incognito features sprinkled throughout the night. Open Mic selections are made at random from the various buckets of artistry displayed as you enter the space. We will select 1-2 artists from each “genre” to be able to perform on the lineup. The night is designed intentionally to be cross-genre. We'll likely have time for 7-8 additional open artists to perform one piece each. Feature Update Our closing feature for this particular event is a national touring artist who will be making the trip to be with us all the way from Grand Rapids, Michigan. Their team will be in the middle of a 2 month tour that just so happened to be making their way this direction the same week of our event. We are really excited to partner together and offer them a space to perform here in Philadelphia while also creating the opportunity for you to experience their artistry likely for the first time. Parking/Food Parking is readily available at Venice Island with Kiosks at either end of the parking lot for just a few dollars. Public Transit is available to get there as well. Also within walking distance, Manayunk's Main Street boasts dozens of great restaurants to grab food from to enjoy on premises during the event or head to after the show. Rain/Heat Location If we need to move Creatives’ Pier due to rain or a severe heat index our alternative location is HighPointe Performance Venue, 6182 Ridge Ave Philadelphia, PA 19128. On street parking and a lot behind the venue are both easily accessible for less than $5.00.
