NORTH ANDOVER, MA — Producers will be in North Andover next week to film scenes for an episode of a Sundance, true-crime documentary series that will look at the 2018 murder of Wendi Davidson. The series is being produced by Left/Right LLC and hosted by Jena Friedman, who has previously written for the New Yorker and The Daily Show. Producer Stacey Young said crews will be in North Andover next Thursday to film interviews with local people about the case. Davidson's family is cooperating with the production, Young said. Davidson's ex-fiance, Brian Chevalier, 54, pleaded guilty to murder in December and was sentenced to life in prison. After Davidson was found strangled to death on April 21, 2018, Chevalier went on the run. He was eventually arrested in Mexico and turned over to law enforcement officials in California. Chevalier met Davidson through an online dating site shortly after he was released from prison in December 2017. The two were engaged by Valentine's Day 2018, but Davidson called off the engagement after learning Chevalier had been in prison for holding a woman captive in her own home for 21 hours in 2003.
