CHELMSFORD, MA – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation said it is closing a portion of Route 129, from June 14, through July 2, between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m.
The closures are part of an effort to allow construction and drilling crews to demolish portions of the culvert bridge and install drilled micropiles as part of the reconstruction of the Meadow Brook culvert.
This work is part of the $6.3 million project to reconstruct the Meadow Brook Culvert and associated roadway reconstruction and realignment. The project is scheduled to be completed in October.
During the nightly Billerica Road closures eastbound traffic will be detoured onto Turnpike Road:
Left onto Mill Road and rejoining Route 129 (Billerica Road). Westbound Route 129 will be detoured left onto Mill Road:
Right onto Turnpike Road and rejoining Route 129 at the intersection of Turnpike and Route 129. Those traveling through the area should expect delays, reduce speed and use caution.
