Meet winemaker Chris Southern, who works directly with growers in three of Michigan’s five American Viticultural Areas (AVA): in southwest Michigan, the Lake Michigan Shore AVA; and in northwest Michigan, the Leelanau Peninsula AVA and Old Mission Peninsula AVA. Every Detroit Vineyards wine is made only from Michigan-grown grapes, sourced directly from family farms and vineyards across the state.
