All veterinarians will tell you that the ideal min age for kittens to leave their mom is 12 weeks. At 12 weeks they have gotten the natural immunities to disease passed thru their mothers milk and their organs have matured enough to digest food well enough to absorb the nutrients. Kittens adopted out at less than 8 weeks is asking for a healthy kitten to get sick fairly quickly as well as traumatize their future emotional growth. If you really care.. wait till at least 8 weeks There are people posting ads for kittens only 5 weeks old. That's just cruel treatment of not only kittens but mama cat as well.
