GROTON, CT — President Joe Biden's administration has ordered 500 million doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to donate to the world to vaccinate a larger percentage of the global population, according to The Washington Post. Pfizer's research site will be among those in the US providing the additional vaccine doses, according to a statement from Pfizer. The first 200 million doses will be distributed this year, with the next 300 million to be sent out next year. Covax, the World Health Organization initiative to share vaccines around the world, will handle distribution, which will focus on low- and middle-income nations, according to The Washington Post.
