Many Grants Available For Small Businesses Run By Women, BIPOC

EAST HAVEN, CT — The town's economic development director hopes that women and Black, brown, indigenous and other people of color who run small businesses take advantage of grant opportunities currently available. Ray Baldwin, East Haven's Director and Chief Administrative Officer for Economic Development said the grants help provide assistance and support to small businesses owned by women and people of color. Among the grants are ones from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce for $25,000, UPS' Latinx-Owned Small Businesses grants, The Jane Walker IFW First Women Grant Program for entertainment, film, music, journalism, sports, STEM and hospitality women-owned businesses, WomensNet, which "gives away at least $10,000 every month to women-owned businesses," and The Stacy's Rise Project which provides female-founded businesses with $10,000 grants and mentorship.
