Job Title: Parts Counterperson (Trainee) Stevinson Lexus of Lakewood is seeking a Parts Counterperson (Trainee) to join their team. Previous dealership experience preferred. Compensation: $16.00-$17.00 based on experience Work Hours: Full Time schedule as defined JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY Learning to sell parts to all customers, both in person over the counter in the shop or on the phone. Objective is to be trained for full parts counterperson responsibilities within one year. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY β’ Assists all customers (retail and shop) in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional and efficient manner. β’ Informs customers of companion part requirements and specials and ensures that the customer is exposed to the full product line. β’ Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other information. β’ Reviews body shop estimates to be sure the parts that are ordered are correct and all pricing is in line with the estimate. β’ Provides high level of service to internal and external customers. β’ Pulls and fills orders from stock. β’ Notifies parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention. β’ Locates out-of-stock parts from outside source and submits an emergency order, if necessary. β’ Stocks and posts incoming orders as needed. β’ Assists Parts Manager in processing stock orders and stock replenishment daily or as necessary. β’ Assists Parts Manager with annual parts physical inventory. β’ Follows up on back-ordered parts. β’ Verifies will-call and back-order files weekly and returns to vendors, or stocks those items not picked up or required. β’ Replenishes assigned inventory daily. β’ Receives payment from retail customers or obtains credit authorization. β’ Sets up orders for daily shipment, delivery or pick-up. β’ Solicits assigned accounts by phone. SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS β’ High school diploma or General Education degree (GED) in addition to 2+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. β’ 1+ year in the automotive industry preferred. β’ English language required (bilingual is a plus) β’ Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization. β’ Valid Driverβs License β’ Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. β’ Typically works in a shop environment and uses a computer, telephone and other equipment as needed to perform duties.
