Joliet Woman Faces 12 Criminal Charges Including Burglaries

JOLIET, IL —Will County Judge Fred Harvey has issued an arrest warrant for a 37-year-old Joliet woman who is now facing a dozen criminal charges in connection with a Joliet Police Department investigation that dates back to last summer. Teneisha Gomez, who had been living at the Daybreak homeless shelter on Cass Street, has been charged with three counts of burglary, three counts of unlawful use of another person's debit card, three counts of unlawful possession of another person's debit card and three counts of theft. On Tuesday, Judge Harvey issued the warrant for Gomez's arrest. Her bail has been set at $35,000. According to the criminal complaint, Gomez is accused of damaging one woman's white Nissan Versa during a car burglary on Aug. 28, 2020, "with intent to commit a theft." On Sept. 14, 2020, Gomez entered the Jeep Grand Cherokee of a man and entered a maroon Pontiac Torrent of a woman "with intent to commit a theft," court documents show. On Aug. 29, 2020, Gomez entered the Gulf Gas Station in Joliet and bought goods from inside the gas station with a First Midwest Bank Debit Card that belonged to someone else, the criminal complaint stated. As of June 10, Gomez had not been taken into Joliet police custody.
