Press release from the City of Jackson: June 9, 2021 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (JACKSON, Miss.) – As of this morning, progress on repairs to the Siwell Road Well, including installation of a new pump, remain on schedule. The well will continue to be offline until all work is completed, which is anticipated for some time tomorrow, Thursday, June 10, 2021, weather permitting. As of yesterday, the TV Road Well is back online with a temporary pump to add additional water into the Jackson Maddox Well System. Delivery of a permanent pump for TV Road is anticipated sometime next week. Once it is delivered, a schedule for its installation will be shared. A precautionary boil water notice remains in effect for the impacted areas and will stay in place until the repairs at the Siwell Road are completed and two days of testing are approved by the Mississippi State Department of Health. The Jackson Maddox Well System is comprised of six wells and serves approximately 16K well water connections primarily in South Jackson and the City of Byram. It is estimated that approximately 2,000 connections have been impacted by recent disruptions at the Siwell Road and TV Road wells. We continue to ask that residents on the Jackson Maddox Well System continue to conserve water to lessen the burden on their neighbors. Residents in the impacted areas, particularly those at higher elevations, can still expect disruptions in their service until all repairs are complete.
