Baby In Stroller Injured In Hit And Run By SUV Driver

LONG BEACH, CA — A 7-month-old boy received was injured when a hit and run driver struck the stroller he was being pushed in by his mother. The driver in an early-1990s model white Ford Explorer struck the stroller and fled the scene, according to the Long Beach Police Department. The baby is in stable condition and is expected to survive. The boy's mother was not injured. The crash happened at about 11:30 a.m. in the area of Long Beach Boulevard and 67th Street, according to a Long Beach Police Department statement. Video of the collision circulated by police, shows the SUV approaching a group of people crossing the street without slowing down. Officers responded to the scene and took the boy and his mother to a hospital, where he was treated. Police circulated the video of the collision Thursday and asked for anyone with information to call Long Beach Police Department Collision Investigative Detail Detective Shawn Loughlin at 562-570-5130.
