Do you have an interest in making a significant impact in someone’s life? Would you want to live with and care for someone for 60k a year? * My name is Juan and I have cerebral palsy. I am working with a program in Florida which will hire a person of my choosing to care for me. I will live with the assistant and they will help care for me throughout the day. I’m looking for someone who is interested in making a long term commitment of a minimum of 2 years but longer is preferred. * * This job is great for someone who values freedom. I need someone to perform the job duties described below. Outside of that you can do what you want with the remaining time, so long as you are nearby in case something goes wrong. If need be I can be left alone in a public place as well. * * The job begins with a training period of 20 hours a week at $15 per hour for 3 months. After that, pay will increase to 30 an hour. Part time will last 9 months to a year due to family issues and concerns. Then begins the full-time job where we live together, and that pays $5,000 a month. I have my own money and can split the cost of rent and utilities. * * I need someone who has a car, van or truck to transport me for instance to the doctor’s office. I will eventually need the assistant to own a lift for transporting me but you can borrow my parent’s vehicle temporarily until you are hired full time and purchase one. * * I would prefer someone who can lift 230 pounds so they can transfer me themselves from my bed to my wheelchair or to the car, etc. I would also prefer someone who is tall to reach the top shelves. * Job duties: * Prepare two meals a day, and sometimes one snack. * Help placing phone calls. * Lift me from my bed to my wheelchair in the morning, and my wheelchair to my bed at night. * Lift me into the shower and assist me with showering. * Help me use the bathroom, and wipe my butt after I poop. * Vacuuming, laundry and cleaning of the home. * Brush my teeth once a day. * Help me get dressed in the morning and undressed at night. * Here is the link to the program which will be paying you http://apd.myflorida.com/cdcplus/fea.
