UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Starbucks lovers rejoice. A new location of the popular coffee chain appears close to opening on the Upper West Side as a "COMING SOON" sign was recently unveiled on a vacant storefront on Columbus Avenue between 67th and 68th Streets.
ILoveTheUpperWestSide was the first to report on the new Starbucks opening.
The location will more or less replace a former Starbucks on Columbus Avenue and 67th Street that closed in 2016.
The world's largest coffeehouse chain is hardly a newcomer to the Upper West Side as the soon to open location is joining a long list of outposts already in the neighborhood.
Here are those UWS locations:
100th Street and Columbus95th Street and Broadway88th and Broadway86th and Columbus81st and Broadway81st and Columbus75th and Broadway73rd and Columbus 70th and Broadway66th and Amsterdam47 West 66th63rd and Broadway61st and West End59th and Columbus Permits were filed in December 2020 for the new Starbucks at 159 Columbus Avenue, between West 67th and 68th Streets. The coffee retailer will be replacing an Unleashed By Petco and a GNC.
Both of which closed in the summer of 2020.
It is not clear when exactly the new Starbucks will open.
