Salem at an all time low

Just drove through down town Salem with my friends from overseas on our way down the coast. There were bum camps under many of the overpasses. The trash piles were bigger than a PU truck and blowing all over the place. The place stunk like a sewer. My friends asked why do Americans tolerate this? I was stumped for a reasonable answer. They told me that they have traveled through 3rd world countries that weren't this bad. Way to go Salem. I'm sure they will share the loverly pictures with all their friends. We have become the laughing stock of the rest of the world. So so sad
