Course Description Build upon the understanding of purchasing organizations and operational objectives you gained in previous Supply Management courses. Study more advanced and specialized topics such as capital asset acquisition, buying services, international purchasing, and purchasing in the public sector will be covered. The class will examine purchasing department objectives, organization, and administration, centralization vs. decentralization, logistics management, purchaser-seller relationships, subcontracting, strategic alliances, and more. Students will become familiar with the legal aspects of purchasing and how supplier relations are a key element of supply chain management.
