Volunteer with Hospice in Clackamas County-August Training

Consider the gift of your presence for those in need of companionship. Spend 2 hours a week visiting a Signature Hospice patient who lives in your community. Support a patient and family in this most intimate time of life -- play music, sing songs, listen to stories, read poetry or prayer, hold a hand in sacred silence. It is about living in the grace of each moment. Many of our patients live in a senior community setting -- independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, memory care, adult family homes. Since the patient is often not living at home with their family, volunteer companionship visits take on an even greater significance. Weekly visits are extremely flexible and we assign you to visit a patient closest to where you live. We serve patients living in Oregon City, Clackamas, Sandy, Troutdale, Estacada, outer SE Portland, Gresham and all PDX metro areas. The next volunteer training, comprised of 3 sessions, is scheduled for August 21st, 28th and 29th.
