California Closets ** Installer (Boise) Compensation: Competitive wage (starting at $18 to $20 DOA) with great health benefits after 90 days and 401K Employment type: full-time Job Description Title: Installer Reports to: Installation Manager and/or Production Manager Status: Full-time, Non-exempt Job Summary: Based on provided designs and components, construct, erect, install, and repair custom storage systems and accessories using laminate wood, edge-banding, hardware and other materials, requiring your skills with hand tools and power tools. Training is provided. Duties and Responsibilities: • Perform skilled and semi-skilled carpentry work to install custom storage systems such as closets, cabinets, offices, and other spaces in the home or commercial buildings. • Utilize company provided CAD drawings\blueprints to properly and efficiently install systems. • Helper and Apprentice level proficiency with specific product installation procedures. • Install of Locking Corner Shelves • Install and adjust hampers, install fillers and scribe mold. • Install and adjust doors and side by side drawer stacks. Install fusion Slat wall system and basic floor-based systems. • Install basic countertops, islands and all types of backing. Install flat trip both base and top trim. • Review paperwork with customer and collect payment as needed. • Responsible for driving to and from customer sites and maintaining company provided vehicles in a safe manner. Report any vehicle problems to the company immediately. • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Installer and/or Supervisor. Qualifications: • Must maintain valid driver’s license and clean driving record • High School diploma • Experience with common hand and power tools • Trade or vocational school experience desirable • Cabinetry or carpentry skills and/or experience installing offices to furniture quality level finishes. • Ability to efficiently manage multi-day installs with a helper. • Understand all wall types and proper methods of securing. • Understand how to work with and around different obstacles in the process of installing. • Must have ability to read, understand and check plans. • Strong verbal and written communication and listening skills • Must adhere to attendance standards and report to work on time each morning. • Able to provide high level of customer service • Able to work individually and in teams • Able to meet the physical demands of the position **This is a highly physical job** Including: • Able to walk, lift 50 pounds, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb stairs, kneel, and crouch • Able to work in various inside and outside environments being subjected to weather, noise, sawdust and other external factors • Requires visual acuity for depth perception and color perception • Visually inspect and report or fix small defects and/or minor measuring mistakes • Able to use a variety of measuring devices and tools provided by the company • Able to assemble or fabricate parts at or within arm’s length • Able to operate machines, motor vehicles, hand tools, and job specific equipment and tools • Able to determine the accuracy and thoroughness of work • Able to hear sufficiently to accurately perceive information at normally spoken word levels • Able to use communication by means of spoken word to express or exchange ideas Competitive wage (starting at $18 to $20 DOA), Medical insurance (Blue Cross of ID at a discounted rate for employee and children), 401K, Vacation/Holidays and Sick days after 90 days.
