'07 Pathfinder transmission fix

My transmission is slipping like crazy and the fluid appears to have metal flake in it. When I checked the transmission fluid today it seems like its over filled. Question 1, would draining and filling to proper levels possibly fix? Question 2, what would you charge to acquire a used tranny and install? And what would you charge to look at and attempt #1? Let me know your experience and availability too. It won't make it too far now, so you'll have to come to Belleville. Thanks.
