Hit the streets of Downtown Waupun and join 20 businesses as they transform their spaces to wine tasting rooms About this event Thanks for your interest in the 2021 Downtown Waupun Wine Walk, hosted by the Waupun Downtown Promotions group/Discover Downtown Waupun. Below you will find information regarding the event, including how the event works and the rules. Check In: Registration and check in takes place at the Waupun Senior Center on August 20th from 12:30pm until 6pm exactly. You MUST have your legal photo ID in order to check for your name on our list, as well as verifying you are 21 years of age or older. If your ticket was purchased by someone else, make sure that they either filled in your name as a ticket holder when purchasing, OR sent that information on to the Waupun Downtown Promotions team. If they didn't give your names, you will have to all check in as a group with the ticket PURCHASER along. At the time of check in, your wristband will be secured to your wrist. If you cannot wear this back to work, please do not check in until your work day is over. Along with your wristband, you will receive your commemorative wine glass, a list of participating businesses, a map, a goodie bag and a card to mark which samples you liked and where you can purchase them. Parking: There are lots of great options for parking - especially if you check in early and do not need to stop by the Senior Center when the event starts. Street parking is available spanning both on Main and down side roads. You can also park in different lots around downtown such as: City Hall, Napa, lot to the west and south of The Clothing Pallet, Wells Fargo, lot to the north of Jud's, lot to the south of the old Sully's building, O'Connor, Wells & VanderWerff, and Werner Harmsen Furniture Store. (The Werner Harmsen Funeral Home lot is another option, pending their are no funerals). Enjoying the Wine Walk: After parking and check in, you're ready to get started! Each business will have two wine selections available. (40 total wines) -Each ticket purchaser receives 20 wine samples (1 ounce each) with their ticket. Purchaser selects which 20 of the 40 available flavors they sample. Maps of participating businesses will be available at the Check In Station. Ticket Purchaser may visit as many or as few of the businesses as they choose. Each business server will remove one tear-off ticket from your wristband for each sample poured. Please allow your server to do this. Wristband tear offs that have been removed are void. Participating businesses are marked by balloons outside, and you will also have a map of the locations received at check in. Take your time and visit all our great locations to see what fun things they are offering inside their stores! Feel free to stop at other open businesses in the downtown to get some more shopping in. Getting hungry? Don't forget to check out the food along with the LIVE music you will find along the way!! Rules & Directions to Note: 1. You CANNOT pick up someone else's wristband. All ID's will be checked to ensure legal drinking age before a wristband will be secured to the ticket holders wrist. NO ID = NO WRISTBAND. NO WRISTBAND = NO WINE SAMPLES 2. You must use your commemorative 2021 Downtown Waupun Wine Walk glass, given to you at registration, for all samples. 3. No samples will be served before 5 pm. 4. Each participating business will remove one tear-off ticket from the wristband for each sample poured. Wrist band tear offs that have been removed are void. Please let your served remove your tear off. 5. No open intoxicants are allowed in the streets. NO EXCEPTIONS! All samples must be finished or emptied before leaving a business. Each business will have a dump bucket and rinse station available if you do not wish to finish your sample. 6. Please do not ask participating businesses to over pour or give you an extra sample. 7. If you appear intoxicated, business owners and servers have the right to refuse serving you. 8. Enjoy the evening responsibly! And thank you to the City of Waupun & Waupun Police Department for guiding us through the rules and helping us make this an annual event. All tickets are NON refundable, BUT they are transferable.
