The Deschutes Land Trust and Bend Pollinator Pathway have teamed up and are giving away free milkweed and native pollinator-friendly plants! Monarch butterflies and other native pollinators need our help! That’s why the Deschutes Land Trust and Bend Pollinator Pathway have teamed up and are giving away free milkweed and native pollinator-friendly plants for you to plant in Central Oregon! If you are looking to start a new native plant garden in your yard, balcony, or porch, we’d love to give you free plants! We’d especially like to get more plants in the ground in NE Bend to help connect the pollinator pathway. On June 27th from 11am-1pm, we’ll be giving away 6-7 plants per person that will be a mix of multiple species. You’ll want to prepare a planting location that is protected from hungry deer and other critters. Since we have limited supply, we are asking folks to please sign up for our native plant giveaway to get your free plants. Species lists, planting information, and event details will be sent after registration. If you already have native plants in your garden, we thank you for supporting pollinator-friendly habitat, and ask that you leave these free plants for those who are just getting started. Thank you!
