Yacht Captain Want to be based in Florida? Fulltime Captain in Deerfield Beach area for private 80 Ft. Family Yacht. Captain should have 100 Ton license or greater maintained at all times, fishing experience as well as strong knowledge of Florida and Bahamas waters. • Ensures that the ship is clean and well-maintained per standards aligned with owners and industry standards. • Regularly updates and reviews any ship status with owners including maintenance of organized logs of maintenance and recommendations based on industry best practices. • Ensures the safety of everyone onboard. • Plan ship's route and itinerary with owners. • Travel on board for extended periods as determined in advance by owners. • Owners entertain guests and family frequently and would prefer candidate who is comfortable with service and with light bartending as needed. • Must be comfortable working holidays, weekends and occasionally extended periods of time up to 7 days / week at times when owners are on board. • Assists owners with recommendations for temporary boat staff including PT Mate for Summer Programs to Martha’s Vineyard and the NE and / or maintenance assistance. Provides management and direction for temporary staff members. • Applicants must maintain own living arrangements in S. Florida unless yacht is on an extended trip. • Captain’s cabin will be shared with temporary Mate while on extended travel but otherwise Captain has private cabin on board. • Boat uniform (shirt, shorts, pants) required while driving yacht. Neat casual attire while performing other functions while not driving vessel. • Captain will assist owners with household duties on occasion when yacht is not in use (including but not limited to assisting with driving to appointments, picking up provisions and/or supplies, assisting with maintenance of domestic / household functions, etc.). Flexibility and willingness to support and assist owners with requests related to running household is required as noted above. • Other duties as assigned. • 5+ Years Yachting Experience • Fishing Experience Preferred • Current USA Passport Maintained • Non-Smoker. Captain is a one-person crew. For longer excursions, temporary mate will occasionally be employed. Captain will also be responsible for interior cleaning, light meal preparation, service and clean-up as well as Captain responsibilities and vessel maintenance.
