What: 3rd Third Thursdays Open House
When: Thursday, June 17, 6:30pm
Where: Corpus Christi Community Resource Center, 2022 St. Bernard
Join NOCWOC, the New Orleans City Workers Organizing Committee, for our special "Third Thursday'' Monthly Open House. We could not be more excited because it’s our third Third Thursday meeting! - and the first IN PERSON!
Since April we’ve been holding this series of meetings on the third Thursday of each month for workers across the city to meet up, vent, and discuss how we can change our working conditions for the better. Each meeting has been a powerful experience for everyone involved - getting to meet our coworkers and learn how to make lasting change happen for us as city workers. When we stand in solidarity with each other, we can fight back for dignity and protections on the job. On June 17th, we’ll be meeting in person for the first time in Room 124A at the Corpus Christi Community Resource Center on St. Bernard Ave. If you need any help navigating to this space, please email or DM us on our socials (Facebook | Twitter | Instagram: @cityworkersnola).
Cuz do you want your voice to be heard by the Mayor and City Council? We’ve learned that fighting together - like during the campaign to defeat the cuts to library funding last fall - is our best chance to save our jobs and win better wages and benefits. So get ready to chat about how we can make our collective power felt heard in city operations and the campaign for $15 minimum wage for all contracted and civil service employees. So please, tell you coworker friends & colleagues who are down to organize bout the Third Thursday Open House so we can grow with each other in power and solidarity.
