AN ASIAN AMERICAN FILM THING is a celebration of Asian- American filmmakers by screening their shorts (films! Not pants!) Not pants!)There will be an array of narrative fiction, docs, animation, music videos, sketches, and experimental films. You will also get to hear what the filmmakers have to say about their work.AND, there will be a musical treat at the end! PARTYYYYY!!!!We want to focus on shorts that show Asian- Americans in power, in a light that Hollywood usually never portrays us in. This night will explore Identity and the power of visual storytelling.Hosted by Angel Yau and Kate MoranMusical Guest: Dylan Adler SHOW INFODoors 6:30 PM, show 7:00 PM.Tickets $22 in advance, $25 at the door, $5 livestream. 21+ No outside food or drink is allowed. COVID POLICIESAs we re-open we're doing everything we can to keep our audience, performers, and staff safe and are complying with all Covid regulations. As part of this, all attendees must present proof of full vaccination to enter. Proof can be via the New York State Excelsior pass, a physical copy of the CDC card, a photo of your CDC card, or other electronic record of vaccination includes name and date (e.g., some chain pharmacies have an app with this information). In all cases the name must match that on your photo ID. Our full Covid policies can be found here. REFUND POLICYTickets may be refunded up to 24 hours before the event. Within 24 hours we may take exchanges for other events at our discretion. No refunds after the event. CAVEAT is a downtown venue that puts on kick-ass, smart events. We’re redefining the boundary between intellect and entertainment. When the thirst for knowledge hits, you don’t have to sit at home watching TED Talks or binge-reading Wikipedia: this is a home for people who love learning, playing, and getting tipsy. Come for the oddball programming – stay for the beer, food and curious company.
