Whatcom Community College invites applications for a Mail Processing– Driver (Class Code 113J) in the College's Copy, Print & Mail Services. This recruitment is open to ALL qualified applicants. Reporting to the Copy, Print & Mail Services Manager, this position will support the functions of campus mail services. Responsibilities include collecting, sorting and delivering campus mail and packages. Operate mailing equipment such as postage meter and tracking hardware. This is an in-person position, not eligible for remote work. Job Responsibilities Include but are not limited to: -Collect and sort mail and packages including bulk, insured, certified, international and regular mail. -Operate postage meters and other office equipment such as postage scales and tracking equipment. -Deliver mail and packages to campus locations and off campus clients. -Navigate the Neopost and the US Postal Service software for completion of paperwork and file necessary forms with the U.S. Postal Service. -Answer all faculty, staff and customer questions related to mail and delivery. -Identify potential problems, solutions and cost saving measures. -Track and maintain supplies and provide reports when requested. -Perform routine equipment maintenance and update software as needed. -May direct the work of lower level staff. Qualifications, Salary and Appointment Minimum Qualifications: -High school diploma or GED. -Possession of a valid, unrestricted, driver’s license and proof of insurance. Preferred Qualifications: -One year mailroom experience. -Experience in a community college/higher education work environment. -Ability to create and maintain spreadsheets for tracking and inventory. -Experience with Postal One, Neopost and BCC Bulk Mailer mailing software. -Understand postage meter and shipping software. -Remain focused on task, working efficiently and handling interruptions appropriately. -Adapt easily to changing operational needs, conditions and work responsibilities. -Develops innovative ideas that provide solutions to all types of workplace challenges and brings ideas to supervisor. -Earns the trust, respect and confidence of coworkers and public through consistent honesty, forthrightness and professionalism in all interactions. -Actively contribute to a work environment that embraces diversity and uses diverse perspectives to enhance the attainment of organizational goals. Salary: -Range 34, full time salary starting at $2738 per month with periodic increments to $3,535 per month. Shift and Working Conditions: -Position's shift is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, typically 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. This position will require individuals to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, and may require a willingness to adjust work schedule as needed. Position can be physically demanding and requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and the agility to bend/walk/stand for extended periods of time.
